Since then I've tried carefully cleaning out any dust, ran memtest in single user mode (all checked out fine) and running it with only mouse+keyboard connected.. Someone posted a MP panic thread a while back and I suggested they look into temperatures and subsequently cleaning it out and it did seem to work for that poster.. There was actually an update to Little Snitch that addressed KP issues now you mention it though.
